      Our History

      As fourth-generation electricians, the business has organically grown and expanded in team size and with that, we have acquired an abundance of knowledge and experience that has evolved over time. 

      This invaluable vault of experience allows us to deliver bespoke electrical designs, installations, plus cabling and lighting services effectively and efficiently.

      Starting from small beginnings, we now reach and service all types of businesses right across the East Midlands and around the UK.

      With a rich heritage and strong family ties, read on to see how the Timms family has kept the trade going for nearly 100 years!

      THE TIMELINE

      • Where it all began…

        Jarvis Timms (Great Grandad) was the first family Electrician. It’s fair to say that CJ Timms have the ‘electric’ gene in their family!

      • Timms Roe

        William (Eric) Timms was seconded during World War 2 to Rolls Royce to make electrical wiring looms for military vehicles. With this experience, he set up and started Timms Roe with Tommy Roe, specialising in electrical installations.

      • 1992 – CJ Timms Opened

        Chris Timms served his apprenticeship for his Dad Eric at Timms Roe.

        Chris worked for various companies including a year in Dubai where he worked on the construction of the harbour.

      • Current Day 

        Roger Timms (MD) and Russell Timms (Director) joined the business in 1992 having worked as apprentices under Chris Timms. 

        Since becoming Directors in 2008, CJ Timms has rebranded into the commercially astute and led business it is today.

      Modern Day CJ Timms
      Fast forward to 2019, CJ Timms now boasts a growing team of experts who all have a strong record in delivering electrical solutions and consultancy services to some of the UK’s biggest companies and brands.

      With clients across the UK, Directors Roger and Russell offer a unique, consultative approach with the sole aim of providing holistic services and solutions to commercial and industrial clients.
