Looking beyond Covid-19: How businesses can prepare for uncertainty.
When the Covid-19 outbreak occurred the world stood still and so did businesses. With major financial market upheavals, government speculation on furlough schemes and funding plans to get citizens reassured, the corporate sectors in society were increasingly neglected and left to fend for themselves.
The biggest challenge among open businesses was accessing the capital needed to stay afloat. Despite the acceptance of government packages, SMEs have been left paralyzed by juggling the best option for future corporate progression and surviving the pandemic phase. Today we discuss the revitalisation of modern offices and the highly anticipated ‘new normal’ work atmosphere.
The country continues to battle an ongoing pandemic of Covid-19 where businesses have had to adapt to new working environments and safety measures to ensure employees are able to work safely together.
Multiple sanitisation stations have now been introduced in most workplaces along with flexible working hours for employees, reconstruction of work spaces to adhere to social distancing guidelines – All in the attempt to limit the unprecedented business disruptions.
But it doesn’t stop there. As Covid-19 isn’t going to be leaving anytime soon, businesses need to start preparing for a world where these disruptions are second nature.
CJ Timms, who provide electrical design, consultancy and installation services in the East Midlands are encouraging businesses to take a step in the right direction and plan beyond covid-19.
Managing director, Roger Timms, from CJ Timms said, ‘Personally, I think this unprecedented chain of events has certainly given us all a fresh perspective on the way that we all operate our businesses and showcases to us all that adaptability is key in the modern business world. I think there will be plenty for us all to reflect on once this has passed. He added…
Our design and planning services remain unhindered and we are open and ready to help your business adapt to any challenges that the future may hold.
The pandemic has given many businesses the opportunity to reevaluate their in-office model and look for smarter working solutions. By introducing a hybrid working environment whereby employees have the flexibility to work from home and the office, businesses can easily adapt to future demands or the next global crisis.
The working collective in society has witnessed several advantages of ‘new-normal’ employability such as the attraction of new talent, increased positivity and staff motivation.
Considering these aspects, several disadvantages have also arisen. Businesses operate on an interpersonal level and a large part of our daily interactions are based on our ability to see colleagues in conversation.
This usually allows the true essence of the business to come to life and advance brainstorming that can initiate new ideas or corporate proposals.
As we get closer to 2021, now is a good time to reflect on areas that work well in businesses, things that could be done better and how we can create a flexible yet collaborative working environment for members of staff.
By investing in the future, businesses are able to discover new ways to work smarter, improve competitive positions and put the certainty in moments of uncertainty.
